Andrea studied her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University before returning home to work in a busy sports medicine environment at the University of Ottawa. This experience along with her love for sport and physical activity, encouraged Andrea to pursue her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, UK. Here she completed an independent thesis related to patient outcome and recovery following total knee replacement.
Andrea is passionate about helping her patients reach their goals. She strongly encourages the importance of prehabilitation and recovery. Her treatment approach emphasizes movement re-education, strengthening, mobility and manual therapy techniques. She has taken post graduate courses in Acupuncture, Dry needling, Mulligan Mobilisation, McKenzie Method, Manual Therapy, Kinesio taping and Graston Technique. Additionally, she has made use of her Sports First Responder certification to work with a number of local sports teams. After having a son of her own, Andrea also developed a passion in helping other women overcome the challenges presented throughout pregnancy and postpartum by specializing in women’s health and pelvic floor physiotherapy.
Outside of the clinic you can find Andrea weight training, running, cycling and spending time outdoors with her family. She is happy to be practicing in her local community of Manotick!
